When is the best time to book a maternity session?
Maternity sessions are typically scheduled around 28-32 weeks. It is best to book your maternity session during your second trimester.
When is the best time to photograph a newborn?
Newborns are best photographed within the first 14 days while they are still sleepy and comfortable being posed. Colic usually begins around 2-3 weeks and baby acne typically appears around 3-4 weeks.
When should I book my newborn session?
It is never too early, but we recommended booking your newborn session during your second trimester. At that time, we will note your estimated due date on our calendar and once baby arrives, we will schedule your newborn session. To provide an excellent client experience, flexibility, and priority for early and late arrivals we only schedule a limited number of sessions per month. Occasionally we do accept last minute bookings, but it is highly recommended booking before baby arrives.
Where do sessions take place?
Newborn sessions take place at our home studio in Georgetown, TX where we have access to all our equipment, props, backgrounds, and accessories. We do not currently travel for newborn sessions.
How long do newborn sessions last?
Sessions can last up to 3 hours allowing plenty of time for feeding and soothing baby as needed.
Do you provide all the props?
Yes, we have a considerable inventory of props, outfits, and posing fabrics. We carefully select our props, outfits, etc., that are specifically made for newborns and reflect our professional style.
May we include any meaningful items in the session?
Yes we will do our best to incorporate a little something special.
Nursery decor (personalized items, signage, etc.) or stuffed animals can be distracting. Coming home outfits, shoes, jewelry etc. typically do not photograph well. If we have not discussed any ideas or props prior to the session, we will not incorporate these into the session. We reserve the right to refuse the use of any outside items.
What to expect during the newborn session?
Newborns are unable to regulate their body temperature, so we utilize space heaters to keep our studio at a cozy and comfy 85 degrees. During the session we pay special attention to our tiny client’s comfort level especially their body temperature and willingness to pose. We ask that you arrive to the session with an idea of what types of pictures you would like but to also be flexible. The safety and comfort of your baby is our top priority. At our studio you will find all of the comforts of home including a changing table, bottle warmer and comfortable place to bottle feed or nurse baby.
